I was a victim to clicking through things too fast and was recently greeted with a blank friends list when I pulled my phone out the other day to see if my wife had made it where she was going. ¬†The version of maps that is running on devices with Jelly Bean such as the Nexus 7 is different than what is currently running on 4.0.4. ¬†If you did what I did and un-checked the wrong box you can actually mess up friends for all other mobile devices and even using a browser. ¬†Instructions on how to get your Friend List back after the break. A few weeks ago I posted a link to some of the CM9 themes out there and have kept looking for new ones since those released.  I am pleased to write that there are lot more of them now and I have been trying a few here and there.  I am hoping to try a few and then either weekly or possibly monthly write up a post of my favorite ones.  Here are a few that I found in the last few weeks that I think are worth a mention.

NS4G OTA Test

I have seen a few posts on other forums about people wanting to go back to stock to get the OTA. ¬†There have also been a lot of questions about rooting after the OTA and if it will remove root. ¬†I decided I would take my phone back to 2.3.7 and then install superuser for 2.3.7. ¬†After that I will take the OTA to see if a few things happen. ¬†Is the recovery replaced? ¬†Does the OTA remove the SU binary and in effect superuser access? ¬†Read on to see the results and what the next steps are. Here is a followup to the extracted radio from earlier. ¬†I have the 4.0.4 IMM76D build for the NS4G uploaded and ready to go with instructions. ¬†This will wipe your device there are plenty of 4.0.4 builds out there from source already but if you want to try what the OTA should be here it is. ¬†I am working on updating my ROM and should have a 4.0.4 based build ready sometime this week. I have decided to merge Peter Alfonso’s Github repositories into my AOSP build. ¬†This allows my build to reach a much more stable level much faster. ¬†I have forked the repositories and will be merging/adding as I go. ¬†This also helps me to learn how changes are made and what functions they do by comparing AOSP to Pete’s repos.
